Jillett Web Design will work with you to create your book promotion web site, which can be integrated with a search engine marketing campaign to help you sell your books over the world wide web.
Book Author Web Site - $995
The basic book author web site contains five (5) web pages, which we design to match the look, feel, and theme of your book using the graphics from your cover design. This works well if you are only promoting one book. Authors promoting more than one book may wish to work with us to develop a theme that represents their genre or area of expertise, and have a "Shopping Page" that includes all their books for sale. The basic site includes:

The basic Author Web Site includes a PayPal "Buy Now" button on the "Buy This Book" page.
To get this promotional rate of $995, the book author must purchase his domain and web hosting through us (see below).
Domain Name and Web Hosting - $69.24 to $93.24
If you don't already have a place to put your web site, you will need a web address for your site, known as a "domain." You will also need server space on a web server where your site will actually reside on the web. This is known as a "web host." The web hosting service available through us is regularly $7.77 / month. Our provider often runs specials making this rate even lower. The monthly fee includes everything you would ever need to host your site, including 300 gigabytes storage space, 300 gigabytes/day data transfer, 600 email addresses, 75 SQL databases, and PHP capability. There are no hidden costs and your domain name (web address) is free the first year!
At the time of this writing our provider is offering web hosting at $5.77 / month. A 25% discount for the first year if paid in advance. You would be responsible for paying the web host and renewing your hosting service and domain at the end of the year. Alternatively, you could pay for several years in advance. Many people do this so they don't have to worry about losing their domain name.
At this writing, total cost to set up your web host and domain name for a full year is $69.24. Jillett Web Design does not charge a fee to set this up for you if you are buying one of our packages.
Flash Introduction on Main Page - $95
You may chose a basic flash animation to play when visitors click through to your site. This would include a subtle motion followed by a logo or slogan, which then stays on the screen, such as the one on Jillett Web Design's home page or the one at the Tropical Evil web site, which we designed in December 2006.
More advance Flash programming is also available at the rate of $45 / hour. An example of this would be a longer, perhaps one minute talking introduction about your site, or a "book trailer" seducing potential readers into the drama of your novel.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
$495 for Setup & 6 Months ManagementSearch engine marketing is a way to get web surfers to click through to your site and hopefully buy your book or other products. Our basic SEM package includes setting you up with Google and Yahoo Search Marketing sponsored search accounts. Occasionally, your cost may be defrayed by special promotions, which are occasionally available if you sign up through us. For example, at the time of this writing we can offer a $50 advertising credit from Google and a $25 advertising credit from Yahoo Search Marketing (Overture).
Our basic package includes initial setup of your Yahoo can Google accounts, selection and optimization of keywords, installation of tracking and analysis code on your checkout page. The tracking and analysis code will allow you to see how effective your ad campaigns are.
Our basic SEM package includes one month of weekly follow-ups to make sure your keywords are working and optimized to drive traffic to your site. In order to qualify for the $495 rate, you must go through us to set up your Google and Yahoo/Overture accounts. You would be responsible for setup and advertising charges (after your credits expire) with these companies. At the time of this writing you can sign up with Google for $5.00 and Overture for $5.00. If you never spend the $5.00 plus your advertising credits, then you never have to give them any more money. But our experience has shown that your ad dollars can come back to you 100 fold.
If you'd like to retain us to regularly analyze your web traffic and optimize your keywords, this can be done weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually depending on your traffic and needs. The rate for this service is $45/hour.
Merchant Credit Card Processing - $1995
If you have an existing merchant credit card processing account, you can integrate this to your web site. Programming cost varies depending on the card provider and their programming interface. If you use Bank of America, your cost would be $1995. You will need to talk to your merchant account provider and have them setup your account for online credit card processing. They may or may not charge extra for this. When you do this, please also let them know a web programmer will be setting this up for you. They should be able to provide you with a testing interface that Jillett Web Design can use until we are ready to go live with credit card processing.
